Root Canal Treatment (also called Endodontics)
This may be needed when your tooth's pulp (inside your tooth) becomes affected by decay, injury or bacteria. If root canal treatment is not carried out the tooth may need to be removed. Our team can perform a root canal treatment to prevent infection spreading and attempt to help you preserve the tooth for as long as possible. You will receive local anesthetic before the treatment so the procedure should be painless. A root treatment can take 2 or more visits.
Ask a member of our team for more information.
-
Extractions (Removal of Teeth)
We try to preserve as many teeth as possible and avoid removing teeth. However sometimes it may be necessary. Tooth extractions are done under local anaesthetic so the treatment is pain free, you may feel a slight pressure around the area. We use gentle techniques to remove teeth and will give you post operative instructions to take home. After the extraction it is normal to experience slight swelling and tenderness in the area which can be relieved by over the counter painkillers. Should these symptoms worsen or swelling develops, you should contact the practice as soon as possible and we will arrange follow up care.
-
Pregnant Women
With so much to consider when you are expecting a baby, your teeth and oral health may be last on the agenda. However, this is one of the most important times to pay close attention to your teeth and gums. Pregnant women often experience bleeding/swollen gums due to hormone changes, dry mouth and erosion on teeth due to morning sickness.
We recommend you book in as soon as possible to ensure all round health.
